vemotes

jScompass includes a video emote (which I call vemotes) feature.  This feature allows you to view video or sound clips created by others, and to create your own video clips that others can view.  The collections you create can be easily shared with other users of jScompass.

Using a vemote

Using a vemote is simple.  All you have to do to view and send a vemote to others, is type the vemote’s trigger with a semicolon in front.  This is very similar to There emotes, only using a semicolon (“;”).  Here’s an example:

;lost

If you type ;lost your compass will display the lost vemote, which is the opening title sequence to the TV show LOST.  Everyone near you using jScompass will also see this vemote.  In addition, you can also enter a vemote with a trailing semicolon, such as:

;lost;

Entering a vemote in this way will play it for others near you, but you will not see or hear it.  This is similar in some ways to emotes in There with a “tick” (apostrophe) at the end, where it does not show the text of the emote but just performs it.

/vemote Commands

There are also /vemote (or /ve) commands, which control the vemote system.  These commands are as follows:

Command (/vemote can also be /ve) Description
/vemote Stop the currently playing vemote.
/vemote vol <number> Set vemote volume, from 0 (mute) to 100 (max).
/vemote mute, /vemote unmute Toggles mute.
/vemote beta Loads the beta vemote collection.
/vemote stop Stops the currently playing vemote.
/vemote next Plays the next buffered vemote.
/vemote pause Pauses the currently playing vemote.
/vemote list Opens this webpage.
/vemote count, /vemote stats Displays statistics on vemotes and vecollections.
/vemote disable, /vemote enable Disables or enables vemotes.  This setting is saved for future sessions.
/vemote off, /vemote on Disables or enables vemotes for the current session only.  This is not saved.
/vemote add <url> Adds a vecollection of the specified URL, which must begin with http://.
/vemote remove <url>, /vemote delete <url> Removes a vecollection of the specified URL, which must begin with http://.
/vemote addshare, /vemote addlast Adds a vecollection of the last veShare pop up you received.
/vemote iggy <avie or trigger> Adds an avatar or trigger to vemote ignore.
/vemote uniggy <avie or trigger> Removes an avatar or trigger from vemote ignore.
/vemote share Posts the last vecollection you shared from the Edit vecollections panel.
/vemote save Forces the saving of your added vecollections.
/vemote reload Reloads all vecollections.

In addition, there is also a /veto command, to direct a vemote to a certain user.  For example, /veto jerseySteve87 lost would play the ;lost vemote.  In this command you do NOT use the semicolon before the trigger.
