Advertising now accepting reservations

I am pleased to announce that the new advertising system in jScompass is now accepting reservations.  Ads are expected to be enabled compass-wide within 7 to 10 days.  If you’re interested in learning more about advertising, why it’s needed, how it works, and how to advertise, please click the links on the left side of this page.

The script code that makes advertising possible exists in every version of jScompass now in use (1.20 and higher).  Older versions are unable to operate correctly.  However, this code has never been enabled except for testing purposes so it is possible that when ads ARE enabled, that problems will appear and I’ll have to promptly disable ads again and make changes.  I ask my pilot advertisers to be aware of this fact, and to know that I treat all matters relating to this compass very professionally and this is especially the case with the advertising.  Arrangements will be made to deliver extra ads if a technical problem appears when ads are launched.  I am a very reasonable person and will work to make things right for all involved.

For users of the compass, please know that care has been taken to ensure these ads are not misused or over exposed.  I know I provide a valuable service to many and I need to be able to cover my costs involved in doing that.  I do have the “ad-free” version of the compass available for a low cost once ads are enabled.  The price on this, as well as on the ads themselves, is introductory, and will increase eventually.  Thanks so much for your continued support!
